MOD Zen Harmony Flat Cut Pebble Mosaic Tile 12″x 12″ sheets
aka Surface Art Light Blend Flat Cut Pebbles
Our pebble collection features high quality, mesh mounted, flat cut, natural stone pebbles. They are mounted firmly to the mesh and have minimal grout for a pebble mosaic. The edges are slightly contoured so that the sheets fit together like an easy puzzle. This makes a seamless appearance for the finished product. It will look as though you set each stone one by one!
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR INSTALLING PEBBLE MOSAICS:
Since this is a natural stone product, the surface is pours and requires a tiny bit of extra attention during the setting process. We recommend setting the stone in its “mud bed” then sealing the stone. Once the mortar is set, go ahead and grout in your mosaic. By pre-sealing the stone, your grout cleanup will be much easier and you will have protected your stone from possible “grout haze” on the surface of the mosaic. Now, when the grout has set, apply a second coat of sealer to your pebbles as well as the grout. A WORD OF CAUTION: Not all grout can be used on pebble mosaics! Tile For Less will make sure you are properly equipped with the right type of grout for your installation.
What type of sealer should you use? Depends on what you want the final product to look like! When we check out a natural stone sample to a customer, we tell them to take a look at the stone color when it’s dry. Then dampen the surface of the stone with a wet rag and notice how the color changes. Which one do you like better? The dry color or the wet color? If you like the look of the dry stone, we will get you a water based sealer. Like the way the color pops when it’s wet? No problem. We’ll recommend a stone enhancer for sealing your stone. That way you will have the color pop when the stone is dry. Both ways offer great stain protection for your natural stone. Both sealers advertise 15 year protection but this can be affected by hard water and the different types of cleaning or beauty products used and how often they are used. All and all a pebble stone floor is not difficult to maintain when set and sealed properly. Plus, it feels AMAZING on your bare feet when used as a shower floor or even the whole bathroom floor.
